STATE OF HAWAII – DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
FULL-TIME EXEMPT POSITION

Senior Planner

Responsible for managing a system to continuously develop, modify and revise preparedness plans required by the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Cooperative Agreement and ensures that they are current, vetted, approved and capture best practices for All Hazards. Establishes and maintains cooperative, consultative and coordinated relationships with various public, private, and military health care professionals and disaster response agencies to develop inter-agency and multi-sector coordination of disaster exercises, training and plans. Completes plans and reports to meet the goals and objectives of the CDC Preparedness Cooperative Agreements and Grants and supervises three Planners on Oahu and provides technical support to CDC funded PHEP planners statewide.

Recommended Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in Public Health and emergency response planning, as well as National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree in a biological science or public health is strongly recommended.
Clinical and/or previous hospital administration/operations experience preferred.

Salary Range:
$60,000 – $65,000/year, contingent on years of appropriate experience, and available funding.

Position is currently exempt, with possible conversion to civil service.
