NOTICE OF PETITION FOR RETENTION

The Judicial Selection Commission (JSC) announces that the following judge’s terms expire in the year 2014. In accordance with article VI, § 3 of the Hawai’i Constitution, the following judges petitioned the Commission to be retained in judicial office: District Judge Hilary Benson Gangnes, District Family Judge Paul T. Murakami, District Judge Clarence A. Pacarro, Circuit Judge Bert I. Ayabe and ICA Associate Judge Alexa D. M. Fujise. The Hawai’i Constitution empowers the JSC to determine whether the judges should be retained in office for an additional term. The JSC invites interested persons to submit written comments or fill out an evaluation form on whether the judges should be retained in office. All written comments and evaluations will be kept confidential. Please visit the JSC’s website for more information and fill out form JS-P-081, the Judicial Evaluation Retention.
