NOTICE TO BIDDERS
(Chapter 103D, HRS)

SEALED BIDS for THE VILLAGES OF KAPOLEI – SIDEWALK AND STORM DRAIN CATCH BASIN REPAIRS, JOB NO. 09-009-K85-S will be received at HAWAII HOUSING FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (HHFDC), 677 Queen Street, Suite 300, Honolulu, Hawaii up to 2:00 p.m., October 1, 2009 at which time all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bidding documents may be examined or obtained at the Development Branch, at the above address. A CASHIER’S CHECK payable to HHFDC or cash for twenty dollars per set is required. Payments are non-refundable. The scope of services involves repairs of sidewalks and catch basins for a period of twelve (12) months along designated roadways as described in the Specifications. Repair work may include removal and disposal of aggressive tree roots and cracked or damaged concrete, installation of root barriers and gravel base course below the sidewalk. NOTICE OF INTENT TO BID and Statement of Bidder’s Construction Experience must be received by the HHFDC at 677 Queen Street, Honolulu, Hawaii no later than 2:00 p.m. on September 21, 2009, the tenth (10th) calendar day prior to the date designated for the opening of bids. Forms are included in the bidding documents and are available at the above address. The Notice of Intent to Bid and Statement of Bidder’s Construction Experience may be filed by fax at (808-587-0600). Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor’s Type “A” or “B” License to be eligible to bid. All subcontractors shall possess the correct Specialty License to be considered for this bid.
Bidders shall comply with all requirements of the bidding documents. Written questions may be directed to Mr. Leo Domingo, Project Coordinator, at the above address or FAX number. No questions will be considered within ten (10) calendar days prior to bid opening.
All bids shall include the State of Hawaii General Excise Tax of 4.5%. Bid security of at least five percent (5%) of the bid amount is required.
The HHFDC may reject any and all bids and may waive any bid defects whenever the HHFDC deems such action is in the best interest of HHFDC. The determination of the lowest responsible bidder will be made by HHFDC.
A pre-bid site meeting will not be conducted, but the interested Bidders are encouraged to visit the various, designated locations indicated in the list or map provided in the bid documents, to familiarize themselves with existing conditions and the extent of work required as stated in the scope of work.
