NOTICE TO BIDDERS
BID FORMS for IFB No. 09-0254, Replace A/C Chillers, Pumps & Air Handlers, Olapa Building 6940, Kapiolani Community College will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822.
Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend a pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 2:00 p.m., February 5, 2009 at Kapiolani Community College, Lama Building, Room 111A, 4303 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, Hawaii. Please note that parking on campus is limited.
Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Herbert Ishida, FAX (808) 956-0865, no later than 4:00 p.m., February 12, 2009.
Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., February 26, 2009.
Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.
The project in general consists of:
Removal work: remove existing chillers, air handlers, DX air cooled condensing units, DX fan coil units, a portion of existing chilled water piping, existing chilled water pumps, air separator, chemical feeder, expansion tank, refrigerant piping, chilled water system solenoid valve, existing chiller system time clock and temperature controls, and all previously mentioned equipment supports and/or related electrical devices, including any related work necessary to complete the project, as called for in the plans and Technical Specifications.
New work: provide new packaged air cooled chillers, new chilled water pumps, new air handlers, new air separator, chemical feeder, expansion tank, new refrigerant piping, chilled water system solenoid valve, new chilled water piping and insulation, new energy management and control system, new DX fan coil units and their condensing units. Repair or replace damaged ceiling areas and chilled water piping insulation. Construct new refrigerant piping shafts for the new fan coil units, new roof openings and new piping penetrations. Provide new prefabricated chilled water piping cross-overs. Provide all new supportive devices, accessories, and power to all new equipment mentioned as required. Patch existing roof and parapet walls openings, as called for in the plans and Technical Specifications.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor’s license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
