The State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) of Hawaii and the Department of Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind Division (VRSBD), will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the change to the State Plan for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) regarding implementation of the Order of Selection.

The VR Administrator has determined that the projected revenues and the projected number of qualified personnel for the program in the next Federal fiscal year (October 1, 2008 – September 30, 2009) are inadequate to ensure the provision of the full range of VR, as appropriate to all eligible individuals. Therefore, the VR Administrator declared the division under Order of Selection for VR services effective October 6, 2008 and that no priority categories can be served.

All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing and to state their views relative to implementation of Order of Selection either orally or in writing. Should written testimony be presented, one (1) copy shall be made available to the presiding officer at the public hearing or to the VR Administrator, 601 Kamokila Blvd., Room 515, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707, by October 29, 2008.
