The Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of Hawai`i, pursuant to Chapter 195,183-12 and 183-13 Hawai`i Revised Statutes will hold a public hearing in Kaua`i to receive testimony on the proposed designation of TMK (4) 1-4-001: portion 003 into the Natural Area Reserve System and withdrawn from the Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve.

The proposed extension of Hono O Na Pali Natural Area Reserve (NAR) would encompass state owned Forest Reserve land that is between and adjacent to the existing Hono O Na Pali Natural Area Reserve and the Alakai Wilderness Preserve in the Waimea district of Kaua`i. The proposed area contains intact native wet forest with several species of rare and endangered plants and animals.

Any person may testify or present information at the public hearing.
