NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Fiscal Year 2008-2009
The Department of Education (DOE), Facilities Maintenance Branch, will compile a list of licensed contractors interested in Emergency REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE (R&M) PROJECTS for public schools on the Island of Oahu. All interested licensed contractors are invited to submit a Qualification Application before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008 to DOE Facilities Maintenance Branch, 729 Kakoi Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96819. R&M projects include trades such as plumbing, electrical, sitework, HVAC, and various other building repairs. These R&M projects shall be solicited on an informal or emergency basis and each project shall amount to not more than $25,000.00. Emergency repair involves immediate repair or abatement work to be done 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Therefore, contractors must be available on a 24-hour basis. In accordance with Chapter 104, Hawaii Revised Statutes, contractors must pay the current prevailing wage-rate for public construction work when performing the requested work. Application Forms for Emergency projects may be downloaded from Facilities Maintenance Branch at: http://obs.k12.hi.us/ Hard copies of these Application Forms are available at State of Hawaii, Department of Education, Mandatory informational meetings will be held in accordance with the following schedule. Interested contractors are hereby advised that attendance at one of the meetings is a pre-requisite for consideration for emergency projects.
