NOTICE TO BIDDERS

BID FORMS for IFB No. 08-050, with drawings, Install New Flooring at Hale Aloha Ilima and Hale Aloha Mokihana Towers, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822.

Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., February 26, 2008. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.

Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend the pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 9:00 a.m., February 14, 2008 at Hale Aloha Ilima, 2575 Dole Street, Honolulu.
Bidders may park at the Lower Campus Parking Structure (Zone 20) or at the Dole Street Parking Structure (Zone 22) for this pre-bid conference. A parking fee of $3.00 will be charged at the designated parking structures. Bidders are to display the visitor parking ticket on their dashboard in plain view of parking guards. Parking will be busy because of the start of spring semester so please plan accordingly.

Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Rachel Weiler, no later than 4:00 p.m., February 22, 2008.

Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., March 7, 2008. Bids received after the stated due time and date(s) will not be considered.

The project in general consists of removal and disposal of existing carpet, resilient base, and ceramic tile; removal and disposal of resident room furnishings; temporary removal and storage on premises, and reinstallation of resident room furnishings; installation of new carpet, new resilient flooring, new ceramic tile, new floor mat and frame, epoxy based paint, and resilient base in rooms, hallways, and common areas at Hale Aloha Ilima and Hale Aloha Mokihana.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor\u2019s license C-7. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
