NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
MAUI PLANNING COMMISSION
The Maui Planning Commission for the County of Maui hereby gives notice that it will conduct a special hearing on July 24, 2007 commencing at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as is practicable in the Kihei Community Center Main Hall, 303 East Lipoa Street, Kihei, Maui, Hawaii 96753 on the following:
SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA USE PERMIT AND PHASE 2 PROJECT DISTRICT APPROVAL
MS. TAMARA HORCAJO, Director, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION requesting a Special Management Area Use Permit and a Phase 2 Project District Approval for the SOUTH MAUI COMMUNITY PARK PROJECT for a regional park and related improvements including a 1,096-seat gymnasium, three (3) soccer/ football fields, two (2) softball fields, one (1) baseball field, five (5) tennis/ basketball courts, a 1.0 mile bicycle/jogging path, pavilion and amphitheater, three (3) tot lots, five (5) comfort stations, one (1) park maintenance building, and related improvements at TMK: 2-2-002:042, Kihei, Island of Maui. The subject public hearing will be conducted in accordance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Maui County Code and the Rules of the Maui Planning Commission. Information pertaining to the subject application may be obtained from the Maui County Planning Department, 250 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui.
Petitions to intervene shall be in conformity with Section 12-201-20 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Maui Planning Commission and shall be filed with the Commission and served upon the applicant no less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing date. Filing of all documents to the Commission is c/o the Maui Planning Department, 250 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. The deadline for the filing of a timely Petition to Intervene is July 10, 2007 at 4:30 p.m.
All testimony regarding the subject application may be filed prior to the date of the hearing by providing 15 copies of said written testimony to the Department of Planning or may be presented at the time of the hearing.
