PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu, under the provisions of Section 6-1517 of the Charter of the City and County of Honolulu, for the following requests for variances of the Land Use Ordinance and under Chapter 23, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, as amended, for a shoreline variance at the date and time specified or as soon thereafter as those interested may be heard:

Request : A shoreline setback variance to allow a new two-story, single-family dwelling and accessory improvements (including a carport, fence walls, and an individual wastewater system) to encroach into the 20-foot (reduced) shoreline setback area. Also, a zoning variance to allow the dwelling to encroach into the yard and height setbacks, and exceed the maximum building area (lot coverage).

Maps of the area under consideration are on file at the Department of Planning and Permitting, Permit and Zoning Records Access, First Floor, Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street, and are available to the public for inspection during office hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

All interested persons are invited to attend. Those persons desiring to testify may register prior to the public hearing at the public hearing site and are encouraged to submit one copy of their testimony in writing.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony which is received by the Department of Planning and Permitting at the above address prior to the public hearing will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
