NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED LAND USE
WITHIN THE CONSERVATION DISTRICT

DATE: July 2, 2007
TIME: 6:00 P.M.
PLACE: Kalanimoku Building, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Room 132, in Honolulu, Hawaii

The State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources, pursuant to Chapter 183C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, will hold a public hearing in Oahu, to receive testimony on the following:

Conservation District Use Application (CDUA) File No. OA-3413

The proposed use is to change the use of the Liljestrand’s Single Family Residence (SFR), 3300 Tantalus Drive, Honolulu, Island of Oahu, Subject Parcel TMK: (1) 2-5-011:008 to a part-time SFR to accommodate the following uses: 1) as a rental to pre-qualified selected individuals and families for a 30 day period (not to exceed six times per year); 2) as a location for filming movies, and TV programs (not to exceed three times per year); 3) as a venue for commercial photography shoots; 4) for small group tours for architects, photographers, historians, educators, artists, etc.; 5) as a venue place for meetings, seminars, workshops, ceremonies, fundraisers, receptions, dinners, lunches, breakfasts and other similar social events for groups (not to exceed 100 people at one time); and 6) venue for dispute prevention and resolution activities (includes consulting, coaching, training, planning, facilitation, negotiation, mediation, arbitration sessions, etc.). The activities will enable the Liljestrand family to continue to use their SFR, and to financially retain and maintain the property.

A copy of the application, is available for inspection at the Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands, Department of Land and Natural Resources in Honolulu at the Kalanimoku Building, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, and at the McCully Public Library, Island of Oahu.

Any person may testify or present information on the application. If you have a legal interest that may be adversely affected by the application, you may have the right to request an administrative contested case hearing. However, you must make the request either orally or in writing by the close of this public hearing and file a written petition for a contested case hearing within 10 days after the date of this public hearing. If you do not make such a request, or fail to file a timely written petition with the Department of Land and Natural Resources, you may be precluded from obtaining a contested case hearing and judicial review. See Chapter 13-1 Hawaii Administrative Rules of the Department of Land and Natural Resources and Chapter 91 Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Disabled individuals planning to attend the hearing are asked to contact the DLNR at the above address or phone Dawn Hegger at 587-0380 at least three days in advance of the public hearing to indicate if they have special needs which require accommodation.
