The State of Hawaii seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as the Interim Director of the Department of Land and Natural Resources. This is a non-civil service executive level position requiring an experienced leader with vision, effective communication skills, and demonstrated abilities to plan, direct, and manage an organization with diverse and complex functions. The Director will manage, administer, and exercise control over public lands, the water resources, ocean waters, navigable streams, coastal areas, and minerals and all other interests therein. The Director will also manage and administer the state parks, historical sites, forest, forest reserves, aquatic life, aquatic life sanctuaries, public fishing areas, boating, ocean recreation, coastal programs, wildlife, wildlife sanctuaries, game management areas, public hunting areas, natural area reserves, and other functions assigned by law. The DLNR also provides a central repository of all instruments of conveyances.
