Notice is given that the Elections Commission, under the authority of sections 1-28.5, 11-7.5(1) and (3), and 91-3, Hawaii Revised Statutes (“HRS”), will hold a public hearing at the following time and location:

The purpose of the hearing is to take public comment on the rules regarding the Elections Commission. The Elections Commission proposes to adopt rules for Title 3, Chapter 170, Hawaii Administrative Rules (“HAR”). The rules are necessary to identify the duties, operations, and procedures of the Elections Commission. The proposed rules delineate the location and office hours of the commission, the availability of public records and information maintained by the commission, and the complaint and meeting procedures of the commission.

All interested persons wishing to testify on the proposed rules should submit one copy of their written statement at least 48 hours prior to the public hearing to the Office of Elections, 802 Lehua Avenue, Pearl City, Hawaii 96782. A copy of the proposed rules will be mailed at no cost to any person who requests a copy by contacting Rex Quidilla, Interim Chief Election Officer, in writing, at 802 Lehua Avenue, Pearl City, Hawaii 96782, or by calling the Office of Elections, at 453-8683 or 1-800-442-8683 (neighbor islands). The proposed rules are also available at the Office of Elections website at www.hawaii.gov/elections.
