HAWAII HOUSING FINANCE AND
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (HHFDC)

The HHFDC is responsible for the financing and development of affordable housing in the State of Hawaii and is seeking highly motivated and dedicated professionals for the following positions:

Housing Information Specialist
Promotes public media relations and public affairs programs on housing development and housing services. Candidates must be familiar with planning, organizing, and conducting information programs for the general public. Required is a college degree from an accredited college/university with emphasis in journalism or communications. The educational training must demonstrate a high degree of English language and journalism skills. In addition, required is 2 yrs. experience relating to the news media as a spokesperson.

Project Resource Specialist
Reviews and assists with budget preparation and monitors expenditures against approved budget. Also reviews the status of each housing project and provides the immediate and long-term impact of delays or changes in expenditures, summarizing the impact of disbursements and receipts to the various funds for housing projects, and projects short-term and long-term resource requirements for housing projects. Required is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance. 4 yrs. experience in program analysis and evaluation, program planning, budgeting or any combination of these areas is also required. Furthermore, 2 yrs. must have been in project analysis and evaluation.

Project Engineer
Responsible for a variety of engineering tasks for the upkeep of infrastructure facilities and dwelling units owned by the HHFDC. Plans, budgets, solicits bids and proposals, and recommends award of contracts. Administers contracts for design, construction management, construction and maintenance related to roadways, water systems, sewer, drainage and other utilities owned by the HHFDC. Responsible for dedication and conveyance of infrastructure and facilities to the respective counties and associations. Candidates must possess a college degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in civil engineering, construction management, building construction, or other related engineering disciplines or five (5) years of experience in the planning, design and construction of projects as a project coordinator, project manager, or contracting officer. Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired, but not required.
