NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu, under the provisions of Section 6-1517 of the Charter of the City and County of Honolulu, for the following request for a variance of the Land Use Ordinance at the date and time specified or as soon thereafter as those interested may be heard:

Request : A variance to allow a hotel (change of use within an existing building) and a commercial establishment (conversion and expansion of a nonconforming accessory commercial use to a principal use), which are not permitted uses in the Apartment Precinct; and to allow signs (with canopy); to allow (retain) a stairs and an open lanai that encroach into the required front yard and reduce the required landscaping and open space; and less than the required off-street loading, and to increase nonconformity.

Maps of the area under consideration are on file at the Department of Planning and Permitting, Permit and Zoning Records Access, First Floor, Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street, and are available to the public for inspection during office hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All interested persons are invited to attend. Those persons desiring to testify may register prior to the public hearing at the public hearing site and are encouraged to submit one copy of their testimony in writing.
Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony which is received by the Department of Planning and Permitting at the above address prior to the public hearing will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
