Great opportunity for an individual with independent decision-making skills and follow-through action. Vacancy with the Department of Design and Construction:

Civil Division, Construction Management Branch, Materials Testing Laboratory. The Civil Engineer VI (Section Head) is responsible for maintaining laboratory accreditation by various national organizations and the overall operation of the laboratory with regard to procedures, laboratory quality assurance program, training, budget, and personnel matters. Researches new materials, participates and represents the City’s interests with inter-agency and departmental meetings for material specifications, standardization and use. Formulates field investigation program, performs data analysis and provides recommendation for pavement designs in support the City’s Roadway Rehabilitation Program. The position requires experience and knowledge of soil, aggregate, pavement, foundation and geotechnical engineering in support of the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and programs by other City agencies.
