CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR
(Exempt from Civil Service)
Salary Range: $37,600 – $65,000
Commensurate with Experience

Duties: Conducts investigative activities in the detection of violations of State of Hawaii tax laws, rules, and regs. The incumbent may perform undercover and surveillance activities. Position possesses police powers.
Required Education: College degree with at least 15 semester credit hrs. in accounting or equivalent experience.
Desirable Experience:
Entry Level: Two years of general investigative and/or financial accounting experience. Must attend 6 months paid training in Glynco, Georgia.
Journey Level: Five years investigative experience in either Federal and/or State criminal tax laws, involving interrogation and surveillance and which demonstrated knowledge of rules and evidence, search and seizure laws and laws of arrest.
Other Requirements: Must be able to qualify to carry a firearm. Must be able to work flexible days and hours.
