Non-Civil Service Position
FAMILY COURT LIAISON BRANCH (FCLB) FORENSIC PSYCHIATRIST
We are seeking board certified child psychiatrists to join an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals serving youth placed at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility (HYCF).
Services will include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, risk assessments especially as related to suicide/self-harm, crisis interventions, supervision, and interdisciplinary training.
Strong clinical leadership skills and multidisciplinary collaboration in a juvenile justice setting are essential. Interested applicants should possess direct experience providing mental health assessment and treatment of youth in forensic settings.
Requires Hawaii licensure as M.D. or D.O. and federal/state controlled substances licenses. Must be able to meet credentialing requirements, possess two years of supervised clinical experience in child and adolescent psychiatry (two years accredited residency in child and adolescent psychiatry); forensics psychiatric experience; experienced with detained or incarcerated youths with mental health needs, and experience in assessing suicidality for these youths, and experience in Family Court procedures and providing mental health consultation to judges and relevant court officers, and be able to work flexible hours.
