NOTICE TO BIDDERS

BID FORMS for IFB No. 06-122, with plans, Old Quadrangle, Install Chilled Water Loop will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822.

Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., May 19, 2006. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.

All bidders and Mechanical Contractors (C-52) shall attend a mandatory pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 9:00 a.m., May 5, 2006, at the Crawford Hall, Room 115, 2550 Campus Road, Honolulu. Bidders must purchase a Gate Ticket ($3.00) and park in Zone 20 for this pre-bid conference. Bidders are to display the visitor parking ticket on their dashboard in plain view for parking guards.

Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Blake Araki, no later than 4:00 p.m., May 17, 2006.

Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., May 31, 2006.

The project shall generally consist of providing an extension of an underground chilled water distribution system from an existing chilled water central plant to the existing building chilled water systems in School of Architecture (SOA) and George Hall and a new underground branch line to Gartley Hall and Dean Hall. The work also includes the connection and modifications to the SOA and George Hall building’s chilled water systems including a new building distribution pump, modification of existing 3-way chilled water control valves to two-way modulating action, connection of the air conditioning controls in the SOA and George Hall building to the existing Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) in the central plant, conversion of the existing EMCS in Crawford Hall and Hawaii Hall to the Web based system, excavation and toning of existing utilities, and associated electrical, architectural, civil and landscape work, complete.

To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor\u2019s license A. BIDS FROM OUT-OF-STATE CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.
