NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
TO PROVIDE
HAWAIIAN CULTURAL ASSESSMENTS OF
TOURISM MARKETING MATERIALS
(Solicitation No. RFP No. 06-05)
The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), State of Hawaii, seeks proposals from qualified parties to propose, develop, and implement a process and guidelines for Hawaiian cultural assessments of tourism marketing materials utilized by the HTA and its various marketing contractors to promote Hawaii as a visitor destination on a world-wide basis. The scope of work includes, among other requirements, the conduct of Hawaiian cultural assessments, which HTA may use to evaluate whether its tourism marketing material is appropriate in terms of being sensitive and respectful to the Native Hawaiian culture and community, and consistent with the correct or proper usage and interpretation of the Hawaiian culture and language.
A copy of the RFP can be downloaded by accessing the HTA website at www.hawaiitourismauthority.org. Copies are also available at the address listed below, between the hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for State holidays.
Prospective offerors are invited to attend a pre-submittal conference on May 1, 2006 at the time and location stated in the RFP. All proposals must be received by HTA no later than 4:30 p.m., HST, on May 22, 2006. Proposals electronically transmitted by facsimile or through the internet shall be rejected. HTA reserves the right to amend this RFP or to reject any and all proposals when HTA deems it is in the best interest of the State of Hawaii.
