PUBLIC NOTICE
OF REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The Department of Human Services (DHS), Benefit, Employment and Support Services Division (BESSD) requests information and recommendations from the general public, private (for profit and non-profit) sector, as well as religious organizations, in keeping with Sec. 104, Public Law 104-193.
Federal Regulations require TANF and TAONF recipients who are mentally or physically disabled to participate in services that assist them in the rehabilitation process. Accordingly, the Department seeks to enter into a contract to provide vocational rehabilitation, including training and employment services, counseling, job placement, job retention and support services (e.g. child care and transportation subsidy, work related expenses), to assist physically and/or mentally disabled TANF and TAONF recipients with obtaining and retaining employment. This contract shall be for the island of Oahu only.

An Information Session will be held on Monday, March 13, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the address above to solicit information on the proposed procurement of services.
The Department may engage in further informal discussions to gather additional information and recommendations.
The Department reserves the right to incorporate in a solicitation, if issued, for such a contract, any recommendations presented in responses to this request for information. Neither the Department nor any respondent to the request for information bears any obligation under this request for information.
