NOTICE TO BIDDERS
BID FORMS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION, AND PLANS (ON CD-ROM OR HARD COPY) for IFB No. 06-073, with plans, Student Life Complex, Phase 1A, University of Hawaii at Hilo will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822 OR at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Facilities Planning and Construction Office, 200 W. Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720-4091.
Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., February 24, 2006. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.
All bidders shall attend a mandatory pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 10:00 a.m., February 16, 2006, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus, Institute for Astronomy Building, Auditorium, Room #101, 640 N. Aohoku Street, Hilo, Hawaii. There is no charge for parking. Parking stalls fronting the building is available or in the upper parking lot. Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Maynard Young, no later than 4:00 p.m., February 23, 2006.
Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., March 8, 2006.
Bids will be opened at 2:30 p.m., March 9, 2006.
The project in general consists of new one story Student Life Center and pool Maintenance Building, Olympic size swimming Pool, Pool Deck, Fire Lane, walkway, landscaping and all necessary site work, utilities and incidental work as required. Also consists of but not limited to site preparation, earthwork, soil treatment, cast-in-place concrete, unit masonry, structural truss joist, structural glued-laminated timber, prefabricated wood trusses, preformed metal standing seam roofing, aluminum entry doors and window wall, gypsum wall board, equipment, addressable fire alarm system, wet pipe suppression sprinklers, air conditioning, transformers, high voltage work, lighting and telecommunications and related work. Also may include provision of all work for the construction of the Basketball Court, Storage Building and site work as noted on the drawings. In general the work shall include but not limited to TWO (2) basketball courts with sports floor coating on concrete slab-on-grade with perimeter unit masonry walls. Storage Building shall include shallow spread concrete footings with tie beams, unit masonry walls, light gauge steel roof purlins, steel beams, preformed metal standing seam roofing and metal doors, and/or provision of all work for the construction of the Basketball Court cover, lighting, electronic scoreboard and other basketball court accessories as noted on the drawings. Court cover shall include steel rigid frame beams and columns supported on a concrete pedestal with light gauge steel roof purlins and preformed metal standing seam roofing related work, as called for on the Plans and Technical Specifications.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor\u2019s license B. BIDS FROM OUT-OF-STATE CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.
