NOTICE OF LITTLE FIRE ANT TRAINING AND VOUCHER REMINDER

The County of Hawai’i is offering Little Fire Ant training to educate the Hawai’i residents about the LFA life cycle, behavior and control methods. This program is sponsored by a grant from the Hawai’i Invasive Species Council, Div. of Fish and Wildlife and supported by the Hawai’i Ant Lab.

Training will be held in Hilo at the Aupuni Conference Room, 101 Pauahi St. on the following dates:
February 15, 2017- 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM
March 11, 2017- 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
March 15, 2017- 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM

In West Hawai’i, training will be held on March 1, 2017 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cooperative Extension Service office at 79-7381 Mamalahoa Highway, Kealakekua.

Attendees at these trainings will receive $45 worth of vouchers to go toward purchases of ant toxicants to control LFA.

LFA vouchers expire on March 31, 2017. Please redeem them at the designated vendors ASAP, before supplies run out. There will be no extension of the redemption date and no rainchecks will be issued.
