NOTICE OF REPEAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE RULE
The University of Hawaii, pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 91, subsection 91-3(f), hereby gives thirty days’ public notice that it intends to repeal Title 20, Chapter 3 of the Hawaii Administrative Rules entitled “University of Hawaii Patent and Copyright Policy” (for convenience referred to as “Chapter 20-3”). The proposed effective date of the repeal shall be January 17, 2017, or as soon thereafter as certified copies of the repeal have been filed with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
Chapter 20-3 concerns the internal procedures by which the University manages intellectual property created by University faculty or staff. Chapter 20-3 does not affect the patent and copyright obligations, rights, and responsibilities of the general public. These interests of the general public are regulated by federal law and regulations.

The full text may also be viewed until January 4, 2017, between the hours of 9:00am noon and 1:00pm 4:00pm at the UH System Government Relations Office located at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, 2444 Dole Street, Bachman Hall 109J, Honolulu, Hawaii 96822, and at regional public libraries.
Any interested person may petition the University Board of Regents regarding the proposed repeal of Chapter 20-3 by submitting a written petition to the Board pursuant to Section 91-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, at 2444 Dole Street, Bachman Hall 203, Honolulu, Hawaii 96822 no later than January 4, 2017.
