NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Liquor Commission of the City and County of Honolulu, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 281, Hawaii Revised Statutes, will hold a public hearing at the Pacific Park Plaza, 711 Kapiolani Boulevard, Suite 600, Honolulu, Hawaii, on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 4:00 p.m., for the purpose of considering the application for the transfer of a liquor license set forth hereunder and to hear any protests and objections to this transfer and to determine whether the applicant(s) is a FIT AND PROPER PERSON TO HOLD THE SUBJECT LICENSE, in the granting thereof. Protests and objections may be made by any registered voter or the owners and lessees of record of real estate and owners of record of shares in a cooperative apartment for the area within 500 feet of the nearest point within which the licensed premises involved in the transfer application is located.
Persons who wish to testify for or against the granting of a license may either testify in person at the Liquor Commission meeting or submit a written protest to the Administrator of the Commission three (3) working days prior to the date and time of the hearing.
You are further notified that Section 281-41, Hawaii Revised Statutes, reads in pertinent part: “Upon the hearing, the Commission shall consider the application and any objections to the granting thereof, and hear the parties in interest. It shall inquire into the propriety of each transfer and determine whether the proposed transferee is a fit person to hold the license. It may approve a transfer or refuse to approve a transfer, and the refusal by the Commission to approve a transfer shall be final and conclusive unless an appeal is taken as provided in Chapter 91.”
