SPECIALIST – HAWAII STATE
HOSPITAL

Kaneohe to Kualoa, Oahu

Full-time, non-civil service exempt position. This position is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and accountability of the psychosocial rehabilitation program (PSR). It oversees the coordination of PSR programs on patient units, in the treatment mall and projects including the garden, work and community programs. The position conducts ongoing evaluation of the quality of PSR programing. This position is under the Associate Administrator for Clinical Services (Medical Director) and directly supervises the Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy and contracted Chaplaincy Services.

Applicants should possess a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and strong clinical and analytic skills in providing evidence-based psychosocial treatments for individuals with mental illness, brain injuries, intellectual disabilities and violent behavior, who are committed by a court and have as a goal the successful return to life in the community. Applicants should have supervisory experience as well as strong teamwork and teambuilding skills.

Desired education: a master’s degree from an accredited university in a clinical discipline. Desired Work experience: more than 3 years with inpatient psychiatry or correctional psychosocial rehabilitation programs, including experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and performance improvement.
