NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), notice is hereby given that the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Highways Division, will hold a public hearing to consider the proposed amendment and compilation of Chapter 19-108, Hawaii Administrative Rules, “High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes”.
The purpose of the proposed rules is to implement Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) section 291C-222 which requires the Director of Transportation to amend and compile rules to:
Sections 19-108-2 to 19-108-5 amend clarification and formatting.
Section 19-108-7
The proposed amendment will include the following policy, which was inadvertently left out in the adoption of this chapter as item under the vehicle exceptions – “Drivers that utilize Kalanianaole Highway, located on the island of Oahu, by permit issued by the director to persons who reside on the east-bound, oceanside of Kalanianaole Highway between West Halemaumau Street and Ainakoa Avenue, and have no traffic signalized access onto Kalanianaole Highway.”
Compile the remaining sections of the chapter.
The public hearing will be held on February 25, 2015 at 9:00 am by video conference at the following Department of Transportation offices:

A copy of the proposed rules may be requested by calling 692-7695 or writing to the address above. Upon receiving such a request, a copy will be mailed at no cost to the requestor. Copies may also be obtained or reviewed at the Department of Transportation offices located in Honolulu, Oahu; Hilo, Hawaii; Kahului, Maui; and Lihue, Kauai; from Monday through Friday (except state holidays), between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The proposed rules may also be viewed online at http://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/home/doing-business/hawaii-administrative-rules/.
