NOTICE
TO BUSINESSES THAT STORE, USE, OR
MANUFACTURE ANY HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES
The Honolulu Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) reminds island facilities that store, use, or manufacture hazardous substances that an important reporting deadline is March 1, 2015. These facilities may be required to submit a Chemical Inventory Report Form (Tier II) and a $100 filing fee. This reporting form addresses a facility’s storage, use, or manufacture of hazardous substances anytime during the 2014 calendar year, in quantities that equal or exceed established reporting thresholds. The information is used for emergency response planning by the Honolulu Fire Department, the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH), and the LEPC. Under the Hawaii Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act, covered facilities are required to report annually. Those that do not report may be subject to substantial monetary penalties.
