NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
HANA ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE
MAUI PLANNING COMMISSION

The Hana Advisory Committee to the Maui Planning Commission for the County of Maui hereby gives notice that it will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, February 21, 2008 commencing at 4:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as is practicable, at the Old Hana School Cafeteria, Hana, Island of Maui on the following:

STATE LAND USE COMMISSION SPECIAL USE PERMIT, COUNTY SPECIAL USE PERMIT, AND SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA USE PERMIT

MS. CHERYL OKUMA, Director, COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT requesting a State Land Use Commission Special Use
Permit, County Special Use Permit, and Special Management Area Use
Permit for the County’s Hana Landfill for land consolidation, boundary
realignment, and grading activity on approximately 74 acres at
TMK: 1-3-006: 012 (por.) and 1-3-006: 007 (por.), Hana, Island of Maui.

The subject hearing will be conducted in accordance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Maui County Code, and the Rules of the Maui Planning Commission. Information pertaining to the subject application may be obtained from the Maui County Department of Planning, 250 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui.

Petitions to intervene shall be in conformity with Section 12-201-20 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Maui Planning Commission and shall be filed with the commission and served upon the applicant no less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing date. Filing of all documents to the commission is c/o the Maui County Department of Planning, 250 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. The deadline for the filing of a timely Petition to Intervene is February 6, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.

All testimony regarding the subject application may be filed prior to the date of the hearing by providing 15 copies of said written testimony to the Department of Planning or may be presented at the time of the hearing.
