NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR SEATS ON THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM
OF THE STATE OF HAWAII
An election will be conducted for two seats on the Board of Trustees of the Employees Retirement System of the State of Hawaii, pursuant to Section 88-24, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Sections 6-24-2 and 6-24-3, Hawaii Administrative Rules. The term for each seat is six years beginning January 2, 2008.
GENERAL EMPLOYEE
One seat must be filled by a member of the Employees Retirement System who is classified as a general employee, excluding teachers, educational officers, and professors.
RETIRANT
One seat must be filled by a retirant of the Employees Retirement System.
NOMINATION PROCESS AND OTHER INFORMATION
Nominations, including candidates resume, must be submitted to the Board of Trustees of the Employees Retirement System no later than August 14, 2007.
Candidates for the general employees seat may be proposed by the general employee organization. Candidates for the retirants seat may be proposed by general employee organizations, teacher organizations, and retirant organizations. Nominations from general employee, teacher, and retirant organizations must be submitted with a resume of the candidates qualifications. The resume shall contain not more than one hundred words, including the candidates name.
Candidates may also have their names placed on the ballot by submitting a petition signed by at least one hundred members or retirants of the Employees Retirement System. The petition must be submitted with a resume of the candidates qualifications. The resume shall contain not more than one hundred words, including the candidates name.
