Ecosystem Manager

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
:
The Ecosystem (NEPA) Manager is responsible for the Ecosystem Management Program for the Hawaii Army National Guard Environmental Program. This position is responsible for the multi-disciplinary environmental program which includes air, land, water and noise pollution prevention to include the monitoring of all construction, field training and operational activities for environmental compliance. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
: Master’s degree from an accredited university in environmental science, zoology, botany, ecology, conservation, biology, natural resources management, public health, engineering or related field.
Experience: Two years experience in leadership or coordination position. Minimum one year experience in environmental compliance with detailed knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.

The Ecology Program (ITAM) Manager is responsible for the Ecology Management Program for the Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG) Environmental Program. This position is responsible for the field ecology surveys to monitor the effects of training on installation water quality, vegetation, soil, rare/endangered species and their habitats. Also responsible for coordinating, designing, and implementing Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance projects to include re-vegetation, erosion control and ecological restoration projects at HIARNG training areas and facilities. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in environmental science, zoology, botany, ecology, conservation, biology, natural resources management, public health, engineering or related field.
Experience: Two years experience in leadership or coordination position. Minimum one year experience in environmental compliance with detailed knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.

Natural Resources Field Supervisor (Botanist)

Develops and establishes protocols to track West Nile disease, dengue fever and avian flu at HIARNG sites and facilities.
