CAMHD ADMINISTRATOR
(Non-Civil Service)

This is a temporary non-civil service executive management position requiring an experienced leader with vision, effective communication skills, and demonstrated ability to conduct the formulation and implementation of preventive services, treatment and rehabilitation plans for the mentally ill and emotionally disturbed children and youths. Salary commensurate with education and experience starting at $90,000.00 to $115, 000.00 plus comprehensive health benefit plans, retirement, vacation and sick leaves. Physician salary commensurate with education, experience and board status.

This temporary non-civil service appointment is until June 30, 2008.

DUTIES SUMMARY

The CAMHD is responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of statewide treatment and prevention services to children and adolescents in need of mental health care, and creation of educational and locally based mental health services through thoughtful and cooperative action between government, communities and families and child and family-centered systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT: Applicants must be citizens, permanent resident aliens, or nationals of the United States. Non-citizens with unrestricted employment authorization from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service may also apply.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Medical degree specializing in child or adolescent behavioral health services or Master’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology or other behavioral sciences specializing in children or adolescents. Preference: For MD/DO applicants. Possession of a M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent and completion of accredited psychiatric residency required. Graduate from an approved medical school in the United States or Canada or graduate from a foreign medical school and certification by the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Completion of one year of an approved internship and four years of an accredited psychiatric residency program. Board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition, applicants must have had three and one-half years (3-1/2) of progressively responsible work experience in a mental health program concerned with the promotion, protection, preservation, care andimprovement of individuals with mental illness. Such experience must have demonstrated applicant’s knowledge of the philosophy, principles, concepts and practices relating to the treatment and rehabilitation of the mentally ill and emotionally disturbed. This work experience must have included responsibility for and demonstrated ability to conduct the formulation and implementation of preventive services, treatment and rehabilitation plans for the mentally ill and emotionally disturbed children and youths. Business management experience preferred.
