“We are calling out to those who are
interested in Hawaii’s coastal zone to get
involved
in implementing our new strategic plan
and the State Ocean Resources Management Plan.
Here are dynamic opportunities to work in the
State’s central Planning Office, leading all Hawaii
forward. Join our team.” Laura H. Thielen, Director
Office of Planning
The State Office of Planning (OP) is recruiting for planner
positions in the Coastal Zone Management Program
(CZM). The positions will be responsible for implementing
strategic directions under the new OP strategic planning
process and Hawaii Ocean Resources Management Plan.
The Hawaii Ocean Resources Management Plan advocates
new approaches and perspectives to the management of
our ocean resources. The plan addresses such critical
issues as reducing land-based sources of pollution,
mitigating coastal hazards, ensuring public access,
promoting beach restoration and coastal land acquisition
and advocating place-based, ahupua’a / moku and
watershed approaches to the management of natural
resources.
CZM facilitates, coordinates and evaluates the
implementation of the Hawaii Ocean Resources
Management Plan.
OP works on current and pressing issues related to
growth, development and preservation in our state with a
focus on complex issues that affect or involve more than
one agency or level of government.
We are looking for energetic people who want an
opportunity to impact Hawaii’s future.
