REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
TO PROVIDE PUBLIC RELATIONS,
COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH SERVICES

The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) is seeking qualifications of a contractor with proven experience and knowledge in the areas of public relations, communications, and outreach services to assist the HTA in addressing the goal and objectives of the Communications and Outreach tourism strategic initiative identified in the Hawaii Tourism Strategic Plan: 2005-2015 (TSP). (The TSP is available through the HTA website at www.hawaiitourismauthority.org). The goal of this initiative is to facilitate interaction among all visitor industry stakeholders that improves the lines of communication and enhances greater understanding of roles, values and concerns.
The contractors communication, public relations, and outreach efforts and services will be highly innovative and creative to meet the various challenges of the HTA as a government agency, with numerous tourism stakeholders and constituencies in the public and private sectors, while ensuring accountability for the performance of its statutory duties and responsibilities to develop and promote tourism in Hawaii and competitively on a worldwide basis.
Beginning Monday, December 18, 2006, the solicitation for requests for qualifications will be available through the HTAs website at www.hawaiitourismauthority.org, or at the HTA office located at the Hawaii Convention Center, 1801 Kalakaua Avenue, First Level, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96815. Written statements of qualifications must be submitted to the HTA no later than 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, January 17, 2007.
