NOTICE TO BIDDERS
BID FORMS for IFB No. 07-016, with plans, Reroof Building 3323, Diesel, Hawaii Community College, with plans, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822 OR at the OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATIVE AFFAIRS/BUSINESS OFFICE, HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGE, 200 WEST KAWILI STREET, HILO, HAWAII 96720.
Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., October 31, 2006. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.
Due to conditions at the site that may not be clearly identified in the technical specifications and plans, it is highly recommended that all bidders attend a pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 9:00 a.m., October 20, 2006, at Hawaii Community College, Building 379A, Room 6A, 200 West Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii. Parking is available close to the building.
Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Brian Kashiwaeda, FAX (808) 956-0865, no later than 4:00 p.m., October 27, 2006.
Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., November 13, 2006. Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.
Bids will be opened at 2:30 p.m., November 15, 2006.
The work shall generally consist of architectural and structural work to include the demolition/removal of the roofing panels, translucent roofing panels, metal ceiling panels, end wood panels at the clerestory, roof accessories and flashings. Work shall also include the replacement of designated steel purlins and painting of all steel purlins, overall rust removal and repainting at structural roof members and purlins, reproofing with translucent panels at the clerestories, replacement of existing exterior fascia and ceilings with new metal ceiling panels and fascia panels, replacement of gutters, replacement of downspouts from gutters as indicated, and replacement of all goosenecks at roof, replacement of paneling and metal louvers at clerestory end-walls. Other work includes abatement of asbestos fascia panels at roofs and complying with HIOSH regulatory requirements for disturbance of existing paint.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor\u2019s license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
