NOTICE

The COUNCIL OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU at its meeting held on September 6, 2006, passed the following bills on Second Reading by the following votes:

Bill 61 (2006) – Leasing of Property Acquired by Eminent Domain Proceedings – The purpose of this bill is to clarify when a lease for real property acquired by eminent domain proceedings may be renewed or extended for more than one year.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Djou, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Garcia. – 1.

Bill 62 (2006), CD1 – Taxicab Fare Rates – The purpose of this bill is to: 1) revise the basis upon which taxicab fare rates are reviewed and set by the city; and 2) require that taxicab fare rates be reviewed more frequently.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Djou, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Garcia. – 1.

Bill 63 (2006) – Improvement District No. 276, Kailua Road Sewers – The purpose of this bill is to provide for the cost of improvements in “Improvement District Number 276, Kailua Road Sewers, Kailua, Koolaupoko, Oahu, Hawaii, Job No. W01-05,” and fixing the portions of the cost to be assessed against the benefited properties and against the owners or lessees thereof respectively, and imposing a lien against each lot or parcel of land assessed according to the respective assessments.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Djou, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Garcia. – 1.

Bill 64 (2006), CD1 – Parking of Vehicles – The purpose of this bill is to authorize the police department and the department of customer services to remove within 24 hours such vehicles left within 500 feet of any school once the vehicle is determined to be abandoned or derelict.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Djou, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
