Department of Research and Development in S. Hilo
Starting salary: $3,820.00 5,438.00/month
Minimum requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in marketing, business administration, public administration, economics, finance, foreign trade, or a related field and four years of responsible work experience involving the compilation, examination, analyses, and interpretation of statistical and other data, two years of which shall have involved the coordination and monitoring of community and/or economic development projects and possession of a valid drivers license.
Specialized experience:
Possess work experience in the visitor industry with general knowledge of tourism and its niches, festivals, events, marketing, promoting, advertising, and travel.
Have experience and skills in working with community groups and in facilitating meetings and activities toward collaborations and consensus building.
Possesses facilitative leadership experience in policy and program development related to the visitor industry.
Have experience with and an understanding of contracts, grants, evaluations, report writing, and planning concepts.
Have the ability to strategically manage Hawai`i Island tourism in a sustainable manner that promotes quality of life for residents, preservation of our natural and cultural resources, quality experiences for visitors, and economic growth.

Starting salary: $2,414.00 – $3,717.00/month
Minimum requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) years of clerical work experience involving the review and maintenance of police records and reports, which included the preparation, review, or processing of legal forms and documents. A current typing proficiency certificate with a minimum typing speed of 40 net words per minute from an authorized examiner must be presented at time of filing.

Minimum requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and three years of experience in the installation, alteration, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment, wiring, and apparatus as a journeylevel electrician; possession of a valid State of Hawai`i Journeylevel Electrician\u2019s License and possession of a valid driver\u2019s license.
CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Starting salary: $3,413.00/month
Minimum requirements: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to completion of the eighth grade and completion of an apprenticeship program involving repair of construction equipment or four years of automotive repair experience under a journeylevel mechanic, two of which shall have been in construction equipment repair work and possession of a valid drivers license.
