NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED LAND USE
WITHIN THE CONSERVATION DISTRICT

PLACE: Pahala Community Center, 96-1149 Kamani Street, Pahala, HI 96777

The Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of Hawaii, pursuant to Chapter 183C, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), will hold a public hearing on Hawai‘i to receive testimony on the following:

Conservation District Use Application (CDUA) for Ka‘û Preserve Natural Area Partnership project, TMKs: (3) 9-7-001-002; (3) 9-7-001-003; (3) 9-7-001-004; (3) 9-7-001-007, by The Nature Conservancy, Ka‘û, Island of Hawai‘i.

A copy of the application, the project’s Environmental Assessment, and maps of the general location of the area under consideration are available for inspection at the Division of Forestry and Wildlife, Department of Land and Natural Resources in Honolulu at the Kalanimoku Building, Room 325, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813 and the Hawai‘i District Office, 19 East Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii, 96720.

Any person may testify or present information on the application. If you have a legal interest that may be adversely affected by the application, you may have the right to request an administrative contested case hearing. However, you must make the request either orally or in writing by the close of this public hearing and file a written petition for a contested case hearing within 10 days after the date of this public hearing. If you do not make such a request, or fail to file a timely written petition with the Department of Land and Natural Resources, you may be precluded from obtaining a contested case hearing and judicial review. See Chapter 13-1 Hawai‘i Administrative Rules of the Department of Land and Natural Resources and Chapter 91 Hawai‘i Revised Statutes.
