Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD)
Non-Civil Service Positions (Exempt)

ACCESS SCREENER

Staff a statewide access line for system entry into the AMHD. Provides screening for mental health needs, crisis support, schedules assessments based on immediacy of needs, and dispatches crisis outreach. MQ: bachelor’s in nursing, social work, or other human services field; diploma RN (may qualify depending on experience) and 1 year experience in mental health, or 1 year experience with a crisis line as a volunteer or paid staff.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Assists Clinical Operations Officer in maintaining systems for collection, analysis, tracking, and reporting of data and providing oversight of AMHD’s clinical operations. MQ: bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social sciences, business, or related field from an accredited college or university; and 2 years of experience working for behavioral health provider, managed care organization, or government entity.

CASE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Assists the Case Management Services Director in coordinating a statewide system of case management services. MQ: bachelor’s degree in nursing, psychology, social work, or other related social science and 5 years of experience in the adult mental health field.

FORENSIC DIRECTOR

Seeking a qualified and experienced Forensic Services Director to develop, implement, and provide ongoing oversight and evaluation of the quality of a comprehensive statewide forensic services system that seeks to balance effective treatment strategies with public safety considerations. Forensic services are defined as the area of overlap between publicly funded mental health services and the criminal justice system. Included are services for persons found incompetent to stand trial and not guilty by reason of mental disease, as well as programs for jail diversion and conditional release. MQ: master’s or doctoral level mental health clinician. 5 years of clinical and administrative leadership experience in forensic mental health in a community-based setting is preferred.

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT (PI)
COORDINATOR

Supervises and coordinates the PI program and functions for AMHD. Provides oversight for the quality of AMHD funded services. MQ: bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, nursing, or other related field; relevant licensure; and 1 year of supervisory experience. 2 years experience in quality improvement preferred.

PLANNING SPECIALIST

Responsible for the integrity of AMHD planning from statewide to county levels and compliance with external legal requirements. MQ: master’s degree in social work, nursing, psychology, or other behavioral science from an accredited college or university; and 5 years of experience working in a behavioral health program.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND
DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and supervises the revenue enhancing and purchase of services contract activities for AMHD. MQ: bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, behavioral or social science, or other related field with appropriate licensure; 2 years of direct experience with payers of health care services, utilization management, and/or compliance programs; and 1 year of experience developing and utilizing data and statistics for surveillance and program improvement. Possession of a master’s degree or a doctoral degree may be substituted for 1 to 2 years of experience.

UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT (UM)
SUPERVISOR

Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and supervises the admissions of consumers to AMHD funded services and the continuous review and monitoring of service utilization. MQ: master’s degree in social work, nursing, or other related field from an accredited college or university; relevant licensure; and 2 years of supervisory experience in a utilization management program.
