NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 30, 2006, a public hearing as required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 will be held with respect to the proposed issuance by the Board of Water Supply of the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii (the Board) of its private activity water system revenue bonds in one or more series in a maximum aggregate principal amount not to exceed $60,000,000 (the Bonds). A portion of the proceeds of the Bonds in an amount not to exceed $60,000,000 is expected to be used to refund the Boards Water System Revenue Bonds, Series 2002A and its Water System Revenue Bonds, Series 2002B which were used to finance (i) the acquisition of the Honouliuli Reclamation Facility consisting of an approximately 12 million gallon per day water reclamation plant and distribution system located at 91-1010 Geiger Road, Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii (the Facility), and (ii) the construction of a portion of additional pipelines from the Facility to service customers of the Board in other areas. The Facility is operated, maintained and repaired by U.S. Filter Operating Services, Inc., a private corporation (U.S. FOS), pursuant to a long term contract with the Board.
The hearing will commence at 8:30 a.m. local time, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard and will be held in the Board Conference Room 301 at the office of the Board at 630 South Beretania Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96843. Interested persons wishing to express their views on the issuance of the Bonds or on the nature and location of the facilities proposed to be financed or refinanced may attend the public hearing or, prior to the time of the hearing, submit written comments to the attention of Clifford P. Lum, Manager and Chief Engineer, Board of Water Supply of the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, 630 South Beretania Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96843.
