NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Pursuant to HRS Chapter 103D, SEALED TENDERS will be received up to and opened at 2:00 P.M. HST on May 31, 2006, in the Office of the Division of Purchasing, Department of Finance, Room 303, 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, located at the Lihue Civic Center Complex, Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii 96766 for the Furnishing and Paying for all materials, labor, transportation, tools, equipment, machinery and services necessary to construct in place complete:
HANAPEPE ADOLESCENT RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTER,
HANAPEPE, KAUAI, HAWAII
BIDDERS ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT EVIDENCE OF THE AUTHORITY OF THE PERSON(S) SIGNING THE BID DOCUMENT IS REQUIRED TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE BID DOCUMENTS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT WILL BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF A BID AS BEING NON-RESPONSIVE OR NON-RESPONSIBLE.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 8, 2006 10:00 AM, HST, at the Hanapepe Adolescent Residential Treatment Center Site, 3285 Lokokai Road, Hanapepe, Kauai, Hawaii.
The successful bidder is required to submit to the County of Kauai, a tax clearance from the State Department of Taxation and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, a Certificate of Good Standing from the State Department of Commerce, and a Certificate of Compliance from the State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as a prerequisite to entering into a contract (HRS 103D-328 & 103D-310).
The Director of Finance reserves the right to cancel this Invitation for Bid or to reject any and all others in whole or in part when in the best interest of the County.
All prospective bidders must, not less than ten (10) calendar days prior to the day above designated for the opening of bids, give written notice of their intention to bid, together with a certification that they are licensed to undertake this project pursuant to Chapter 444, H.R.S., relating to the licensing of contractors, to the Director of Finance, County of Kauai. All prospective bidders shall have a Hawaii State Contractors License Type B PRIOR TO submittal of bids. Such written notice and certification must be submitted sufficiently ahead of time to be received by the Director of Finance no later than 4:00 P.M. HST on May 19, 2006. Risk of late delivery of mail shall lie with the bidder.
This is a County Project funded by County and State funds.
