Pursuant to the provisions of Policies and Procedures for the Procurement of Professional Services involving Federal-Aid Highway Funds, the County of Kauai hereby provides public notice to invite persons engaged in the professional services listed below to submit current statements of qualifications and expressions of interest for the fiscal year 2005-2006

The County of Kauai, Department of Public Works, is seeking professional services to conduct island wide bridge inspections.

The objective of the bridge inspection program is to ensure the safety of the public by conducting field inspections on approximately 22 County of Kauai bridges. Biennial bridge inspections are required by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Existing bridges can be kept open and safe with proper evaluation. Periodic maintenance can prevent the need for replacement of older bridges
