NOTICE TO BIDDERS
BID FORMS for IFB No. 06-109, with plans, North Hawaii Education & Research Center, Phase II, will be available from and received in the OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT AND REAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (OPRPM), UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, 1400 LOWER CAMPUS ROAD, ROOM 15, HONOLULU, HAWAII 96822 OR at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Facilities Planning and Construction Office, 200 W. Kawili Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720-4091.
All bidders and asbestos contractors are encouraged to attend a pre-bid conference/job site walk-through at 10:30 a.m., April 27, 2006, at Hale Hoola Hamakua (Old Honokaa Hospital), 45-547 Plumeria Street, Conference Room, Honokaa, Hawaii. There is no charge for parking.
Written notice of intention to bid is due in OPRPM by 4:30 p.m., May 5, 2006. Intention to bid via FAX (808) 956-2093 is acceptable.
Requests for Substitution/Clarification must be submitted to the Technical Representative, Mr. Lo-Li Chih, no later than 4:00 p.m., May 2, 2006.
Bids must be submitted no later than 2:30 p.m., May 16, 2006.
Bids will be opened at 2:30 p.m., May 18, 2006.
The project in general consists of the partial demolition and removal of a portion of the existing wood structure building; construction of a new two-story building and connecting bridge to the existing facility; and related site improvements and incidental work as required. Also consists of, but not limited to abatement of asbestos containing interior transite wall panel, vinyl asbestos floor tiles and mastic, pipe insulation, roofing, abatement of flaking lead containing paint and related work. Also may include provision of all work for the revised layout for offices and hallways to include gypboard partition and doors, ceiling, lighting, switching, air conditioning, electrical work, roof gutters, downspouts, splash blocks, and miscellaneous related work as called for on the Plans and Technical Specifications.
To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor\u2019s license B. BIDS FROM OUT-OF-STATE CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Bids received after the due time and date(s) fixed above will not be considered.
