NOTICE

The COUNCIL OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU at its meeting held on March 15, 2006, passed the following bills on Second Reading by the following votes:

BILL 13 (2006) – WAIVER OF BUILDING PERMIT FEES – The purpose of this bill is to waive building permit fees for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of homes on Hawaiian Home Lands.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Garcia, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Djou. – 1.

BILL 17 (2006) – MOTOR VEHICLE WEIGHT TAX FOR BUSES USED AS TEMPORARY SHELTERS FOR THE HOMELESS – The purpose of this bill is to reduce homelessness on the streets by exempting vehicles that are converted into mobile homeless shelters from the motor vehicle weight tax.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Garcia, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Djou. – 1.

BILL 18 (2006) – DEFERRAL OF REAL PROPERTY TAXES – The purpose of this bill is to allow certain elderly persons to defer their real property tax obligation on their residences.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Garcia, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Djou. – 1.

BILL 19 (2006) – EXECUTIVE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2006 – AMENDMENT NO. 2 – The purpose of this bill is to fund agency shortages due to unanticipated increases to fuel and electricity costs, and unanticipated salary and current expense costs in the Department of the Medical Examiner and the Department of Emergency Services’ Ocean Safety Division.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Garcia, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Djou. – 1.

BILL 26 (2006) – COUNTY TAX CREDIT – The purpose of this bill is to make certain changes to the county tax credit to address concerns raised regarding the implementation of the tax credit.
AYES: Councilmembers Apo, Cachola, Dela Cruz, Garcia, Kobayashi, Marshall, Okino, Tam. – 8.
EXCUSED: Councilmember Djou. – 1.
