NOTICE FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY FUND PROJECT

Pursuant to the provisions of Policies and Procedures for the Procurement of Professional Services involving Federal-Aid Highway Funds, the County of Kauai hereby provides public notice to invite persons engaged in the professional services listed below to submit current statements of qualifications and expressions of interest for the fiscal year 2005 – 2006:

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS – BUILDING DIVISION

NAWILIWILI-AHUKINI BIKE/PEDESTRIAN PATH FEDERAL AID
PROJECT NO. CMAQ-0700(57):

The County of Kauai is seeking professional service to provide environmental planning work for the Nawiliwili-Ahukini Bike/Pedestrian Path Federal-Aid Project No. CMAQ-0700(57). Work will include an environmental assessment (in compliance with HRS Chapter 343 and National Environmental Police Act (NEPA)), Special Management Area (SMA) permit application, Conservation District Use permit application, scope of work, and basis of design.

The Nawiliwili-Ahukini Bike/Pedestrian Path will be approximately 6 miles of 10-12 foot wide, 6-inch thick concrete bike/pedestrian path. The project starts at Nawiliwili Bay and ends at Ahukini Landing. This project is a portion of the Nawiliwili to Anahola coastal bike path identified in the State DOT Bike Plan Hawaii, A State of Hawaii Master Plan, September 2003. It will connect with the Ahukini to Lydgate Park Bike/Pedestrian Path.
