Full-time, Exempt* position on the Island of Oahu
Appointment Not to Exceed: 06-30-08
Annual Salary Range $50,000-56,000

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible to: Seek and secure discretionary grants and new funding avenues to support the Hawaii Department of Education ’s (HIDOE) mission and strategic plan objectives; Enhance the capacity of the HIDOE to increase resource development; Coordinate, develop and write grant/funding proposals as needed; Develop capacity building initiatives and provide training for staff regarding grant related activities; Research, cultivate and solicit current and prospective foundation and agency donors; Develop and maintain a system to track/monitor the grant applications submitted, applications pending and the grant awards received.

MINIMUM QULIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in education,human services,social sciences,or related field from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE: Eight (8) years of progressive responsibility in business, education or public administration with experience in grant writing, fundraising, public speaking, planning and conducting education-related meetings, working with groups, conferences and providing presentations.

*This position is exempt from civil service and is currently funded through 6/30/08
