NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LAND USE WITHIN THE CONSERVATION DISTRICT

The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), State of Hawai’i, pursuant to Section 13-5-40, Hawai’i Administrative Rules, will hold a public hearing in Hilo, County of Hawai’i on:

Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 6 pm
at the DOFAW Hilo Baseyard located at 19 E. Kawili St.

to receive testimony on Conservation District Use Application (CDUA) HA-3798 for the proposed establishment of a National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) field study site at the Pu’u Maka’ala Natural Area Reserve located within the Upper Waiakea and Ola’a Forest Reserves, Island of Hawai’i, Tax Map Keys: (3) 1-8-012:003; 1-9-001:001; 2-4-008:009, 019 & 025.

A copy of the CDUA is available for inspection at: The Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands, located at the Kalanimoku Building Room 131, 1151 Punchbowl Street in Honolulu, at the Hilo State Library and online at the Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands website at dlnr.hawaii.gov/occl/current-applications.

Any person may testify or present information on the application. Disabled individuals planning to attend the hearing are asked to contact Tiger Mills of the DLNR’s Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands at (808) 587-0377 at least five days in advance of the public hearing to indicate if they have special needs which require accommodations.
