NOTICE OF PRESCHOOL OPEN DOORS APPLICATION PERIOD

Pursuant to Hawaii Administrative Rules, Chapter 17-799-5, notice is hereby given that the Department of Human Services will be accepting applications for the Preschool Open Doors (POD) program starting January 23, 2017 through the closing date of March 31, 2017. Applications received during this period are for consideration for POD program participation for the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

Families with children who will be enrolling into kindergarten for the school year 2018-19, including those children affected by the change to the kindergarten entry age, are encouraged to apply. The program provides child care payments to eligible families so that their child is able to receive up to a year of preschool experience prior to their entry into kindergarten. Funding for POD is limited, priority for program selection are detailed in POD administrative rules which can be found at the link below:

Interested families may request an application beginning January 23, 2017 from the Department’s POD contractor, PATCH, through their website or by calling:
