PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN of proposed rulemaking and public hearing by the Department of Customer Services, City and County of Honolulu. The purpose of this public hearing is to consider adoption of proposed City and County of Honolulu Administrative Rules, Title 9, Chapter 2, governing Private Transportation Services and Drivers. The proposed rules provide for procedures and standards to be followed for the issuance of private transportation company business licenses, certification of private transportation drivers and vehicles, private transportation company vehicle requirements and standards for operating.

A public hearing will be held as follows:

TIME: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

550 South King Street, First Floor
Honolulu, Hawaii 96813

All interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing and present relevant data, views or argument within the time limit provided for consideration by the Department of Customer Services. Persons who are not able to attend the public hearing may submit written testimony to the Department of Customer Services, Motor Vehicle Control Section: by mail at 1112 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816. All testimony must be received no later than November 16, 2016, 4:30 p.m.

Anyone may request a copy of the proposed rule at no cost. To receive a copy, call the Motor Vehicle Control Section at 768-2530 or pick one up at the following address between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday: 1112 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816. A complete set of the proposed rules is also available on the City’s internet website at: http://www.honolulu.gov/csd/default.html

Individuals interested in attending the public hearing who have special needs or require special assistance may contact the Motor Vehicle Control Section at 768-2530 at least two business days before the scheduled public hearing date.
