NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Pursuant to §91-3, Hawai’i Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the County of Hawai’i Department of Human Resources for the purpose of considering proposed amendment(s) to Rules of the Department of Human Resources, Title 1 – Rules of the Director. The proposed amendment(s) include, but are not limited to, the following: Chapter 3, Filling of Positions in the Civil Service, Subchapter 4, Medical Standards and Examinations. The proposed amendment removes the requirement of pre-entry medical examinations for all persons and establishes that pre-entry medical examinations may be required pursuant to procedures promulgated by the Director of Human Resources. Also, incorporates the “Table of Contents.”

All persons desiring to express their views on the above matter may do so orally at the hearing and must register with the Department of Human Resources staff or may submit written testimony at the hearing. Public testimony may also be submitted before 12:00 noon on the day of the hearing: (1) By mail to the Department of Human Resources at 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 2, Hilo, Hawai’i, 96720; (2) By facsimile to (808)961-8617; or (3) By e-mail to Glynis.Yamada@hawaiicounty.gov. All written, e-mailed, and oral submissions shall be fully considered and included in the record of the hearing.
Copies of this notice and the proposed rule amendment(s) are available at the Department of Human Resources located at 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 2, Hilo, or online at www.hawaiicounty.gov/human-resources, or by mail upon request. Copies cost $1.00 for the first page and 10 cents for each additional page plus postage, and will be mailed to interested persons after payment is received for copy and postage fees.
